A Landrover at last!
14 08 08 - 07:45For those in the know, she's a 1975ish (still waiting for the log-book) 109" Station Wagon, 2286cc petrol. Fitted with twin fuel tanks, a swing-away wheel carrier & a third row of forward-facing seats in the back.
Un-named as yet, but I'm sure she will tell me in her own time.
I'm champing at the bit to driver her, but have to wait for registration & road tax to come through.
Might go for a joy-ride around the school access roads though!
She's a bit rough by British car standards, but there are no MOT test out here, so many second-hand cars are total death-traps.
Decent cars are very expensive here & landrovers are well appreciated for their ability to be "bodge fixed" for years at a time.
She needs a bit of work to the brakes & the electrics, but nothing we can't sort out with a bit of time & patience.
At least the chassis, engine & drivetrain seem to be in good order, without too many bolts missing!
I'm sure the "landrover adventures in Africa" will be a regular feature here soon!
